Feedback on Student Progress
There are several ways in which I provide feedback on student progress. I assess daily student work and return it to students with a rating. When necessary, I include notes to help students improve their work. I also use this work as a way to determine if the class is ready to move forward or if they need additional review in certain areas.
Weekly, my students chose a piece of work that they want to take home and share with their parents. The student reflects on their work and I include my comments. The students bring their sheets back with parent comments. This allows me to communicate progress in a casual way with parents and helps them interact with their children about what they are working on at school.
Quarterly, I write progress reports that the school sends out. I have included a sample of one of these reports below.
